London region residents get their say
The London Region residents' conference is taking place on Saturday 27 June 2009 at County Hall, next to the London Eye, Southbank.
This year’s conference is entitled ‘Outside Your Front Door, Taking Responsibility For Your Community’ and will look at how we can all make a difference to your local areas.
The day starts at 9.30am with registration followed by a welcome introduction and interactive workshop sessions in the morning and afternoon.
There are several workshops on offer from which residents can chose four to attend. These include:
- Young People and Anti-Social Behaviour
- Caretakers, Cleaning & Security
- Youth Forum
- Estate Inspections
- Greener Communities
- Setting up Resident Groups and
- Crime Prevention.
Other activities include a prize draw, with a chance to win tickets to the London Eye or the London Aquarium. Lunch and refreshments will also be included and it is expected that the event will end at 2pm.
Residents are also encouraged to bring their children to the event as there will be a crèche facility for younger children and supervised tours of the Movie Museum for the older ones
Duncan Howard, Regional Director for London Region, commented “I’m really looking forward to this conference. Not only will it be a great day out for the whole family but it will offer residents the opportunity to engage with staff and for us all to learn from our experiences and successes.
“I hope the good practice that is taking place on some of our estates is picked up by residents attending the event and used to improve the quality of life on more of our estates. We hope the day will offer something for everyone and look forward to welcoming residents from the London region to the event.
To register your interest you can call the Service Centre on 08456 066 366 or email LR.enquiries@shgroup.org.uk.
Please note this event is only open to residents who live in the London region.
