New gas safety registration scheme

Logo of Gas Safe RegisterAs of April 01, 2009 a new entity, Gas Safe Register, replaces CORGI as the official gas register in Great Britain.

By law, anyone carrying out work on gas installations and appliances in your home must now be on the Gas Safe Register.

What does this mean for you?

For the most part, our residents won't see any change.

You should check that any gas contractor visiting your home has the Gas Safe Register logo on their ID.

We have a process in place to check routinely the registration and qualification of all engineers (and companies) contracted to work on our properties. This ensures that they are competent and properly trained.

The CORGI logo may still appear on vans and paperwork sent from contractors as there is not an immediate requirement for this to be removed. However, over the coming six months we expect to see the new yellow and black Gas Safe Register logo replacing the old CORGI symbol.
