Digital Inclusion - Computers in Communities

Helping to increase people’s computer skills

Southern Housing Group’s Social and Economic Regeneration Department has set up training centres in London to help more people gain digital skills and become comfortable using a computer.

People learning how to use computersTraining for everyone

We’re providing training for our residents, their families and local people on how to use computers, helping them gain email and internet access for a range of everyday tasks such as:

  • Job hunting
  • Education
  • Shopping
  • Banking
  • Gas and Electricity supply
  • Information

Through our links with UK Online Centres and the BBC, we can offer the full range of Go on and First Click courses including:

  • Online basics – starting off with computers: using a keyboard and mouse, setting up an email account, using the internet safely and online searching.
  • Online jobs – searching and applying for jobs online, how to develop and send a CV, search for advice and training opportunities.
  • Online services – finding information on local council and government websites, paying council tax, road tax etc online, applying for winter fuel payments.
