On Friday Cuckfield resident Bevely Moore welcomed Cllr Christopher Snowling of Mid Sussex District Council officers into her new home in The Dell, as part of an official tour of the recently completed Cuckfield residential development. The visit was commemorated with the planting of a sapling (Snowy Mespillus), attended by guests including local parish councillors and council officials.
Wates Linden Homes South completed 63 housing units earlier this year and worked with Southern Housing Group as the affordable housing provider for the scheme. As a result Southern Housing Group now manages 13 houses and apartments on a social rental basis within The Dell and has also sold six houses and apartments on a shared ownership basis.
Residents moved in throughout this summer and Bevely Moore moved into her new home in July. "I absolutely love this new development it is beyond my wildest dreams. I feel at home; it is fabulous here."
Bevely added that: "I never thought they would offer accommodation like this for affordable housing. I always thought it would be a lower standard, but the standard is second to none."
Cllr Snowling, Cabinet Member for Health and Community, said: "I'm delighted to be here to see the concrete results of our affordable homes initiatives. We are dedicated to helping families into their new homes." -ends-
